Versailles is home to France’s most lavish palace and official residence of royalty from 1682 to 1790. Originally a hunting lodge built by Louis XIII in 1624, it was expanded by Louis XIV to use it as a secret refuge for his amorous trysts and where he built a fairy tale park.  Later, his architect, Jules Mansart, transformed it with the addition of the magnificent Hall of Mirrors and elaborate gardens.

While in Versailles, enjoy a behind-the-scenes, private, spectacular, guided visit of the private apartments of King Louis XV, King Louis XVI, and Queen Marie-Antoinette, demonstrating the refined and luxurious detail in décor symbolic of the extraordinary splendor of the Chateau.  Follow this with a tour of the Petit Trianon, the Chapel, Marie Antoinette's Garden, the Temple of Love, the Theater and the Hamlet.

You’ll stay at the Trianon Palace, a five-star spa property with an acclaimed Guerlain spa and Gordon Ramsey restaurant adjacent to the palace gardens.  Versailles is the ideal place from which to explore France’s finest castle and points west of Paris, including Chartres Cathedral, Monet’s gardens in Giverny and the many chateaux and abbeys in the region.
